: Blue Plaque from the Ulster History Circle
Commemorations of Private Morrow VC's exploits culminated on Thursday 21st May 2015, the 100th anniversary of the London Gazette announcement, with a triple tribute to the Newmills hero.
Supported by both the chair and vice-chair of Mid Ulster Council, MLAs and local councillors, a large crowd gathered in the village to witness the unveiling of a Blue Plaque provided by the Ulster History Circle.
After a short speech by Chris Spurr, Chair of the Ulster History Circle, the Blue Plaque was unveiled on the gable wall of the Old Schoolmaster's house on the Annaginny Road by Keith Morrow, a relative of Private Morrow. Pte Morrow's birthplace was in the townland of Sessia, on the Annaginny Road.
