Movement for a Memorial
A public meeting was held in the schoolhouse, Newmills, County Tyrone, on Monday evening to consider the best method of doing honour to the memory of the local V.C. hero, the late Private Robert Morrow. A discussion took place in which Rev D T Macky, Messrs Robert Daniel, J.P., Joseph Elliott, A Dudgeon, W J Senior, D McKee and Matthew Hammond participated, and warm letters of encouragement were read from Rev H G W Scott, M.A., Mr Henry Wilson, J.P., and R J W J Scott, Coalisland. It was decided to form a general committee from the residents in the county, and meantime a local working committee was chosen, with Mr R Daniel, J.P., as chairman, and Mr R Dudgeon as secretary.
